Review:

Theo is definitely no ordinary Englishman. He’s about to go and face the music about his duties as the duke of the area. And he’s not a willing one. I thought it was funny that he looked like such a wild rogue with his beard and tanned skin. So...scraggly according to the time and place. And he happens upon the Lady Violette on his way home. Funny thing is they are going the same way. But she is more than just a social climber. She has her family to care for since her father is no longer there to. And he left them in a bad situation. But she is quite a character. She’s willing to give up her whole life by marrying someone who might not care at all about her. Just to ensure her family’s future. I found her a very strong and wonderful character. I liked Theo too, but he needed a little settling. Great read!  5 out of 5 stars!

Review:

Ahhh perky Mel and broody Derek. What a pair. Polar opposites in so many ways, but like magnets, they are attracted to each other. Problem is that while Derek has lots of experience with girls, Mel is not near as much in the guy department. Even though she’s so young, she’s very driven and has her life all planned out. Then Derek comes along and everything changes. He’s not who she pictured herself falling for, but once she gets to know him, it’s hard not to. He has the rocker attitude down to a T. On and off the stage. But he doesn’t intimidate her much and things spiral out of control pretty quickly. I really liked the new vibe of this book. It’s different than the first two but still has that happily ever after feel to it. 5 out of 5 stars!

You know, at first I didn’t really like Eliza. She seemed judgmental and prickly. In fact, i thought she was kind of prickly the first time I read about her, but the more I read about her story, the more I liked her. She had her reasons and was very remorseful for thinking how she did about Stone. And Stone, well he obviously needs a woman’s touch to soften things up a bit. Some men are just intimidating and he’s one of them, just like his father was. I loved every minute of their love story. And I can’t wait to read more in this new series. 5 out of 5 stars!

It’s a match made in heaven, or more like one made by her brother. Delia’s brother wanted a match between she and Reginald’s best friend, Roderick. The very day they meet for the first time, a horrible tragedy happens. It’s one that the whole family has a hard time getting past. The eldest brother and Delia blame their selves for what happens and there is a kind of break down in communication between the two as well. Top it off with the fact that she doesn’t want to remember what happened that day and it makes for a difficult time for Roderick, whose bent on seeing this through and marrying her. But not just because Reginald wanted it. Turns out Delia’s brother knew what he was doing though. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story and the struggles they faced. It was a very sweet read!

I love this author’s books. This was another short and sweet with a side of spice and suspense. It was a good blend and I enjoyed it quite a bit! Will has basically ruined his reputation with the ton in order to protect himself. His dealings are of a very delicate nature and to be discovered would be the end of it all and could be quite dangerous. Then there’s Rose. She comes along and sees right through the guise. I love her wits and willingness to go above and beyond. She’s got some real spunk to her and isn’t just a pretty ornament for some man. They’re a good match and I loved reading their love story! 5 out of 5 stars!

I really enjoyed reading Alex and Millie’s story. They were both deeply hurt by people they were interested in and weren’t sure about dating anymore. They’re both interested in each other but their misgivings and insecurities tend to make a mess of things. On top of it all, Millie is trying to overcome being a doormat for others. I think that’s a great lesson for any person, kid or adult. Don’t let people walk all over you. Stand up for yourself. Alex is such a sweet and caring guy and Millie is a very sweet and shy girl. They’re a perfect fit!

Another short but very sweet book by this author! I truly feel for Ella. Her circumstances are dire and because of her father’s debts, she is left with absolutely nothing to survive on. Matthew has everything he could want, but his past has scarred his heart and he’s suspicious of women and their possible intentions. Neither had a good father figure growing up and that plays a large role in things as well. I loved the orphanage scene!

When she looks at me with those big blue eyes, I can’t help but wonder if kissing her is the perfect balm. When I go for it, I manage to ruin everything.

Review:

Chloe heads off to camp as a counselor this year instead of a camper.  She hopes to help make her resume look good since she wants to be a teacher, but she also wants to impress upon Alex that she's no longer a child.  But when she gets there, things take a turn almost immediately.  He doesn't even really notice her.  Instead, it's Drew that's nice to her and acts way different than the year before when he was torturing her.  As their friendship grows, so do other feelings and the two struggle to deal with being friends as they open up more to each other about their lives.  And although he seems to screw things up constantly, Drew isn't who Chloe thought he was. He's so much more.

This was a great YA read that was very clean.  It was really sweet and although it's geared towards teenagers, I found myself enjoying reading it!  It's a great start to a new series by this author and I can't wait to see what comes next!

I’ve been hoping that Callum would find his happily ever after. He finds a perfect match in Elizabeth. She works hard as a laundress to help provide for her and her aunt, who I really liked. She was a very endearing character. Callum is wealthy and titled but looking for a practical woman. And his character is very likable. He’s kind but carries his demons just like Elizabeth. And she wants more than to be a pretty fixture in his life. This was another short and sweet story by the author. I only wish it were longer. But don’t we always when it’s a good one?

Oh Ryker might be my new book boyfriend. He's titled, and I mean titled. He has plenty of money. Very handsome. Single. And did I mention that he's not much for your standard debutante? And protective. That's some serious attractiveness, so I can see why in the book he doesn't like social occasions. The women would absolutely drown him in an effort to attempt to garner his attention. Instead, a woman who doesn't seem to know how to keep her reputation intact is who draws his attention. Tricia is a good woman. She cares deeply for others, including orphans. She has a natural mother instinct. And she has no regard for her reputation when it comes to caring for and keeping her family safe. I loved their story and love the title of the series!

Agnes is such a sweet person. She is loving and caring and everything Kieran thinks he shouldn't want. But the joy she possesses is hard to stay away from, especially when they're staying under the same roof for a time. The only problem is that she has a certain idea of what gentlemen should be like, and Kieran doesn't fit in that box. But he carries wounds and scars of his own. And he's slowly shattering those preconceptions she has. I loved watching the romance between these two. The fact that the two don't completely get along is nice because it's realistic since all relationships have hurdles they must get over. It's a shorter read, but a great one!

Review:

Another wonderful story by Tammy Andresen! I knew from reading other books by her that Fiona was going to be quite a handful, and I was right! She has more spirit than most men cared for in that day and age. Men wanted quiet, demure, dutiful wives. I'm afraid Fiona is anything but that. She has spirit and unfortunately these suitors that are put in her path, don't quite care for it except for making things interesting in bed. Colin, on the other hand, doesn't take to this suitor business well at all, but it's kind of his fault that she's in the position she is. Being forced to find a husband would be my worst nightmare and apparently it is for Fiona too. I really liked Colin and felt bad for the situation he was in with his father. That man really messed with his head. Over all it was a great read!

Oh I love this story! Clarissa is a publicly spurned woman arriving in Scotland to spend time with her family and to escape her public ruin due to her ex-fiance's horrible behavior. And wow, what a story behind that one. Even in modern times that would have been quite the scandal. On the way to her Uncle's house, she meets a handsome Scot who hates the English and with her English accent, he makes it quite known that he's no fan of anything English. What he doesn't know is she is half Scot herself. Ewan has his own very good reasons for having such a dislike of the English. And he has his own pain to deal with, much like Clarissa does. They understand each other well once they get past attempting to hate each other and realizing the other is not the enemy after all. Which brings me to the title. So very appropriate. Loved the book and I love the cover!

Books like this put me more and more into the Christmas spirit. I love getting the chance to read Christmas books this time of year and this one is a very sweet romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was pretty short so it wouldn't take long for anyone to read but still held romance and love with a smidge of suspense to it. It's sad that Emilia doesn't have a better opinion of herself just because she isn't married, but not surprising considering the setting. Things are much different in our modern world. I really liked Jack. A man of questionable heritage but falling quickly for his rescuer. Yes, now that I found greatly to my liking. A woman saving a man overboard! Now that's what I'm talking about!

Lucius is one guy I have been wanting to learn some background info on. His serious drinking problem almost killed him in the last book I read. Now he is working in America for Barrett Maddox. During his "work", not only does Barrett show up, but he brings along another ghost from Lucius's past. The girl who basically nursed him back to health on his voyage over to America: May. That was six years ago. Now she's a woman of 19 and secretly looking for a husband so she doesn't have to return to England, where she feels she doesn't belong. Lo and behold, she and Lucius have some serious chemistry. However, he thinks he's no good for her and May just wants a chance to find somewhere she belongs. I really enjoyed learning more about Lucius, even if his past is rather heartbreaking. His and May's story was a great read!!

Review:

A man who isn't looking for a wife and a woman who isn't looking for an involved husband. Now that's quite a pair. Tom Maddox has no intention of marrying when he meets Flora. But the moment he sees her, things begin to change. And Flora is not only in the company of her mother, but an earl who is courting her. Loudon is a man who drinks too much and his behavior when he does is very unbecoming of a gentleman. It brings out a side that Flora doesn't like and Tom likes even less. In his quest to keep her safe, he falls in love with her once he realizes she is so much more than his first assumptions. She's a woman worth having and worth fighting for.

I loved reading their story and the end definitely left me wondering about Loudon and who he truly is. While he just seems like another bad guy, there is definitely more to him than what is seen in this book alone. I imagine his story has some real tragedy to it. Overall, it was another excellent read!

Review:

I loved reading Chris and Lizzie's story. In fact, I just couldn't wait to read it, which is why I am already adding a review. There were some humorous moments, especially when Chris has his friends come over. I love the whole group; each of them bringing a different dynamic to the table. Barrett, Alex, and Chris are like the three musketeers and I love that! Chris is suddenly thrust into his new position as an earl, one he has no idea how to even begin to deal with. He is a self-proclaimed rake and mostly acts like one. But when he meets Lizzie things change. She must marry and soon, and although Chris is trying to find a suitor, he just can't keep his hands to himself. A handsy man (rake in this case who likes women with loose skirts) is not one I usually like, but Chris is so sweet and caring that it makes the romantic side of the book even better, especially since he continually fights himself and deals with being unworthy of such a woman. This is a great addition to the rest of the series! By the way, if you find yourself lost as to who the friends are in the book, don't worry, there are books about them too.

Review:

What an enchanting book! I sat down and read this in one evening. I was intent on finding out what would happen with Gavin and Isla. I know the name she goes by is seen as strange by characters in the book, but I happen to really like that name. And Isla is a unique character. She's strong and independent, stubborn to a fault on occasion, but she also has a good heart. And that makes me just love her character. Gavin had been burned before by his wife that died a while back. There is no comparison between her and Isla. But it does take a little time and some unfortunate events for Gavin to see that. In fact, it seems that in this book the tables are turned seeing as to how the man is the one often in trouble and needing help. This by no means squashes Gavin's masculinity. He is one very large Scottish man who can handle his own. Oh and I especially love how all the characters of the author's books are interwoven. Isla happened to appear briefly in another of the author's books I have read, and now she has her own story. Their stories all connect in some ways. I love that!
