Review for The Partnership (Extra Credit Book 1) by Charlotte Penn Clark

The Partnership
Extra Credit Book 1
Charlotte Penn Clark

Blurb:

Kyle’s got a problem. He needs to pass college composition to graduate but he can’t get words on a page.  It’s landed him in a pilot class called Extra Credit for students in trouble—when all he wants is to be left alone.

Lani’s got a problem too. She doesn't like making waves and it gets her stuck in the Extra Credit class. When she ends up partnered with Kyle things start getting complicated. Kyle is angry, restless, impatient; Lani is calm, introverted, bookish. But when these opposites attract can they manage to stay “just partners”?

Review:
This was a unique story for me. It was different because I’ve never read anything like it before. Definitely an interesting idea and I’ve seen other books that kind of looked like this but definitely weren’t the same. It does start off rather slow. But the story between Lani and Kyle gets heated and things change for the very quiet and modest Lani and hot headed Kyle. They both have their issues they face. There’s some nice character growth and the end is really good!  4 out of 5 stars!

Review for Love Notes (Accidental Kisses #3) by Tammy Andresen

Love Notes
Accidental Kisses #3
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:

Melissa: The baddest member of the band, Derek is the picture of a dark rock god and everything I never wanted in a boyfriend. My well-laid plan for the future definitely doesn't involve brooding guitarist/singer with intense eyes and a history of disastrous relationships. But when he turns that passionate gaze on me, I'm helpless to resist. Even though I know this doesn't make sense. I don't do casual flings and Derek's sworn off long-term girlfriends. This can't work out for either of us, not in the long run. It's obvious that kissing Derek is nothing but trouble...so then, why can’t I stay away?

Derek: My type of girl is going to kill me. I mean emotionally, but one of them might actually attempt murder. My relationships are always exciting, right up until the point it goes crazy. It's my own fault, though. You see, I don't date good girls. They're too sweet, too wholesome, and they're way more trouble than they're worth. Take Melissa. The girl might not bring drama, but get to close to someone like that and someone's heart is bound to break. She's exactly the type of girl I've always avoided, the kind of girlfriend I never wanted. But maybe, just maybe, she's exactly what I need.

Review:
Ahhh perky Mel and broody Derek. What a pair. Polar opposites in so many ways, but like magnets, they are attracted to each other. Problem is that while Derek has lots of experience with girls, Mel is not near as much in the guy department. Even though she’s so young, she’s very driven and has her life all planned out. Then Derek comes along and everything changes. He’s not who she pictured herself falling for, but once she gets to know him, it’s hard not to. He has the rocker attitude down to a T. On and off the stage. But he doesn’t intimidate her much and things spiral out of control pretty quickly. I really liked the new vibe of this book. It’s different than the first two but still has that happily ever after feel to it. 5 out of 5 stars!

Westland University Series by Lynn Stevens

Title: Westland University
Author: Lynn Stevens
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb: Anyone who says they’re having the worst day hasn’t met me. My girlfriend cheated, I blew out my knee, and probably trashed my chance of going pro. All in one day. Then my jerk professor tells I’m almost on academic probation.
Awesome. Now I get to find a tutor.
Enter Mallory Fine, quiet, a little intense, and my kind of gorgeous. Who also happens to hate baseball and any guy who plays it.
Hello, curiosity.
I tell myself this will be nothing more than a tutoring relationship. I’m a liar. I want this girl. How hard can her secrets be to unravel? It might be a challenge, but so is getting back on the ball field and I’m determined to make that happen—no matter the cost.
Blurb: Olivia Dawson doesn’t make mistakes. Unless those mistakes are a tall, broad-shouldered, cocky baseball player named Devon Miller. Devon and Olivia have been competing in their engineering classes since freshman year, and he seems to want nothing more than to get under her skin and shake her confidence. Unless you count that one time when he got under more than just her skin…
Now, they’re pitted against each other for a coveted internship that could open tons of doors for each of them. Only one of them can win. And they’re both ready to fight dirty if they need to.
Could Devon be playing for more than just his own gain—could he be after her heart?
Olivia is about to find out.
Game on.
Lynn Stevens flunked out of college writing her first novel. Yes, she still has it and no, you can't read it. Surprisingly, she graduated with honors at her third school. A former farm girl turned city slicker turned suburbanite, Lynn lives in the Midwest where she drinks coffee and sips tea when she's out of coffee. She’s the author of Full Count and Game On..

Review for Summer Sizzle (Accidental Kisses #2) by Tammy Andresen

Summer Sizzle
Accidental Kisses Book 2
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:

What happens when Mr. Popular accidentally gives the artsy nerd her first kiss? Complete. Mayhem.

Millie: As a self-proclaimed art geek and an introvert to the nth degree, catching the eye of a guy like Alex didn't even factor into my wildest dreams. I was a dreamer, not an idiot. But then the impossible happened--Mr. Popular kissed me. He. Kissed. Me. But it doesn’t mean anything. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way.
Alex: Summer flings are nothing but heartbreak. They might start off hot but they'll burn you in the end. That's why I know I need to keep my distance from Millie, even though I can't seem to take my eyes off of her. That plan was all fine and good until I kissed her during an insane fit of jealousy. Now that I've had a taste, I can't walk away, but I can't make any promises either. I mean, I can't take a chance on another summer romance...can I?

Review:
I really enjoyed reading Alex and Millie’s story. They were both deeply hurt by people they were interested in and weren’t sure about dating anymore. They’re both interested in each other but their misgivings and insecurities tend to make a mess of things. On top of it all, Millie is trying to overcome being a doormat for others. I think that’s a great lesson for any person, kid or adult. Don’t let people walk all over you. Stand up for yourself. Alex is such a sweet and caring guy and Millie is a very sweet and shy girl. They’re a perfect fit!
5 out of 5 stars!

Review for Demon Stones Saga Volume 1 by Raven M. Williams

Demon Stones Saga
Volume 1
Raven M. Williams

Blurb:

Will the Stones' Guardians succeed in fulfilling the prophecy, or will Darkness finally Gain Dominion over the Earth?

During the time the Elves lived on Earth, it was discovered some humans had magical abilities, but were untrained in how to use them. The Elves took on this task, and when the humans' time with the Elves was over, Valael created stones for each of the women of Raven Coven. It was then the Ancient Witch Line was born.

Down through the ages, the magic and the stones were passed from mother to daughter. Not only did they enhance the magic of each of the women who wore them, they would glow whenever evil was near. For this reason, they became known as the Demon Stones. Many coveted the stones, but they only worked for those tasked with protecting them.

As with all things, the legend of these stones fell into obscurity. Then, many centuries later, they were discovered once more. By some, through the discovery of a human who bears one, for others, through a prophecy foretold.

With this revelation, the first stone’s bearer sets out to find, not only her own stone, but the rest of the stones and their guardians. Where this quest will take her remains to be seen.

Review:
This is a great continuation after the Realm Jumper Chronicles! More action and excitement and more evil lurking! Vaduxach the demon dies in the other series and now his place has been taken by his and the witch Cassie's daughter, Aisabahl. She seems just as prone to tempers and wanting to do things her way as much as her parents. That's the thing about demons, they all seem to have their own agendas. An interesting twist to the whole thing is the Vampire Queen. She has her own agenda too, and I'm just not sure how things will play out with her. A few new characters are introduced and some old faces show up as well. It's a good mix. It was also really interesting watching some of the girls adjusting to life on Earth. They have never drove a car or had bank accounts. And the spies! It's almost comical the amount of spying that is going on, but the various layers of who is manipulating who or what is put together really well. All in all, I really enjoyed it!! 5 out of 5 stars!

About Lindsey

Lindsey Iler is the author of the Our Worlds series. She’s had her feet planted in the state of Michigan since she was born and she still lives there with her husband and three kids.

When she’s not writing (which should be all the time, so if she’s not you have permission to yell at her), she’s spending time with family and friends, listening to music, reading (obviously!), and hopefully just enjoying every moment in life. She has a twisted sense of humor, tends to speak honestly, and her mind tends to feel most comfortable in the gutter.

Lindsey writes mature young adult/new adult contemporary romance. She falls in love with every character that pops into her head and is notorious for writing long chapters in her notes on her iPhone (It is sort embarrassing how many started/unfinished projects are on that thing). She finds inspiration from music and the people around her.
