Review for The Dragon Slayer by D.L. Colon

Their celebration is cut short when the leader of the Dragons, Hyglarur, attacks them by surprise; killing everyone except for Glaycol. His new armor absorbed the fire, but he didn’t came out unscratched. He lost his right eye. 

Glaycol, now driven by revenge and his family’s creed: Kill them all, has to find clues to where Hyglarur’s brother, Rotwar, is hiding. When he finds him Glaycol attacks, leaving him wounded and with a message for Hyglarur; Hyglarur, I am coming for you and your Dragon Empire. I now know that Dragons can be killed. 

Glaycol Masters was once known as the Berserker, but a new name has been given to him. The continent will forever know him as The Dragon Slayer.

Review:

Glaycol Masters is a man on a mission. He hates all dragons after his parents were killed in front of him by one, losing one eye and gaining permanent scars as well on that fated day. But there is more to meet the eye than just a man that his scars inside and out. He is strong enough to kill a dragon and goes on a journey to take down one particular dragon, the one that killed his family. Along the way he gains a few tentative friendships from those also wishing to depose the dragons who are now in control. Personally I would like to see more of these lesser characters. They seem very intriguing and all have different backgrounds. The end left me with some questions and a little sadness. However, the author has created these dragons in a way that it's as if I can hear their booming voices as I read. I am hoping for more of this story!

REVIEW The Lost City: The Champions of Darkness (The Lost City Series Book 3) by D.L. Colon

First off, this is a rockin' cover!  I love it!  And it is an good representation of what is going on in the book as well.  I also love how one of our main characters is named Osiris.  But I have to say, who in Hell could possibly outmatch Osiris?  And I mean they are literally in Hell with Lucifer.  In fact, she is the one trying to put together a team to destroy Noryad King.  If you have read any of the books in this series, then you know what I am talking about.  If not, check them out.  The second book, King's Inheritance is my favorite!  And this guy right here is the one wanting to go after my favorite character as a part of Lucifer's plan.  But Osiris has ulterior motives.  This guy just seems to revel in evil.

The Lost City: King's Inheritance by D.L. Colon

 

In the next book in The Lost City Series, Noryad King has returned home after many many years to claim what is rightfully his; his inheritance.  He is the rightful ruler and king of the island he returned to, but first he must train and go through a number of tests to prove his worth and skill.  When he returns he finds that the dead are already coming to him and that there is much to be learned before he can even begin to look for the sword of King Arthur.  No one knows where the sword is besides the one that watches over it and Merlin, the sorcerer.
   Not too long after arriving back at his castle, Coral, the Goddess of Fate, follows him there and stays at the castle as well.  She and Noryad have feelings for each other that keep developing, but she holds secrets that threaten to destroy their relationship.  And once those secrets come out, it also causes a vengeful war for Noryad, who already has one war coming in the near future.  He must be ready for both so he can protect his kingdom and his people.  More than that, he must help protect the world from Raphael and his Destroyers that are coming.  And make no mistake, the devil's son is out for blood.


  I have now read both books in this series and although the first was a pretty good read, this one was absolutely fantastic!  I was really stuck in this book and couldn't get out until I finished it!  It had loads of action and some drama.  It mixed some angels and demons with old tales of King Arthur and Merlin.  While this would normally not be a great combination, D.L. Colon did a very good job mixing it up!  I very much look forward to the next book in his series!

The Lost City: Drake's Revenge by D.L. Colon

  I recently read this one and it has a rather interesting story line to it. The main character, Drake, is a real butt frankly because he is rather high and mighty being a half breed and The One for this prophecy that everything revolves around in this book. He is out looking for revenge from the Saviors and Destroyers who killed his parents. He's so busy training and trying to get this revenge that he doesn't even see Selene coming until he's already falling for her. She's a very special woman with special talents (including the art of torture). 
   My favorite character was actually Noryad King who leaves for quite a while in the book, but guess what? He has a book all about his journey! It's the next in the series and I have already started on that one!  There was some repetition in the book and the flow was a little choppy in the beginning.  However, the last half of the book was much smoother and was really intriguing!  This was a pretty good read! I would give it a solid 3.5 stars. If you're into angels and demons and the possible destruction of Earth then you should check out his books!
