Review for Hunter's Moon: An Urban Mythos Novella by S.A. Hoag

Blurb:
Lyra Alexander considers herself an archeologist, a job that normally wouldn't be very dramatic or dangerous. The problem with her job, however, is that she studies vampires. And they aren't too thrilled about being studied.

In this world, there are all kinds of creatures prowling in the night . . . Humans are no longer at the top of the food chain.

Review:
Well, this was a short but very interesting novella.  I am partial to paranormal romance anyway, but this one had new and different themes when it came to the vampires in this story and that made it rather unique to me.  Unique can be a great thing in the book world!  And Lyra is quite a unique woman with her big secret she carries around that only a handful of people happen to know.  Now, I wasn't so surprised about who she ends up "being with", but this guy kind of grows on you, despite his cocky attitude.  I like the idea of someone in a book actually studying vampires.  It's cool.  And I really can't delve too much into this review without divulging something important.  Just one word of caution: the vampire brothers in this book are kind of crazy.
5 out of 5 stars!
