Release Day and Review for Battle and Betrayal (The Black Rose Chronicles Book 3) by A.K. Michaels

Synopsis:

Rose is back in Cassius’ arms but for how long? With the Demon King, Basilius, hunting her down, their future is so far from safe that they need Kuan’s assistance to keep Rose out of the King of Hell’s grasp.
They must band together and face a battle against a horde of Demons. A fight that even the God, Kuan, isn’t sure they can win. The mysterious Chinese God seeks out an old friend to try and garner her help, and the Dragon Warriors she may be able to bring to their aid. Nothing is certain though, as she’s kept her Dragons from being discovered for eons. Will she allow herself, and her Dragons, to help in the fight that will decide the human realm’s fate?
With a traitor in their midst and the battle looming, tensions run high as Cassius struggles to keep his mate, and humankind, safe.
Come and find out if they can triumph in the age old struggle: Good versus Evil.
Book 3 in New York Times Bestselling Author, A K Michaels’ fast paced and thrilling dystopian series, with a plethora of paranormal beings thrown in to spice things up.

Review:

As always, A.K. Michaels makes sure the title of her book lives up to its name!  Battle and Betrayal is just that.  Rose and Cassius along with all of their friends are now facing the big showdown with Basilius and all off his demons.  Everyone is feeling the strain as they gather their friends and allies about them, hoping it will be enough to prevail.  If they don't, not only will they be in for a particularly gruesome and uncomfortable death at the demon king's hands, but the entire world would be in danger.  Basilius is not content with what he has.  In fact, he wants it all.
I enjoy a good epic battle, especially among immortals and paranormal creatures.  It makes things particularly interesting when you are working with more than just your normal swords and spears.  And this time we get an added bonus: dragons.  I thought that was a particularly nice touch to the book.  However, I have to ask myself how in the world the characters are so disbelieving that dragons exist in the world they live in where demons abound along with fairies, vampires, a Chinese god and shape shifting wolves?  It doesn't seem too awfully far-fetched to me personally if I lived in such a world.  I also wished that there was a little more to the battle scenes and such.  At times the book does seem a bit hurried.  But all in all, this is another great addition to the series!

A nice solid 4 out of 5 stars!
