Review:
As if this group of misfits couldn't get any more unpopular. And yet they have! I would normally feel sorry for them but this group proves over and over how competent they are. And yet there is some truth to this series about how often people are afraid of those that are different than them and the past is an ugly reminder to us all. I love how the author has blended in things like the witch trial to his world where someone who could whisper to heal people could be deemed dangerous by those that didn't understand it, which were most humans. The truth is still a real problem for most that hear it in this book and although some bad things happen, there is also good. But I have to say that those who find trouble in this series tends to stay in it or die.

Review:

Book 3 of the Deathsworn Arc series is just as full of intrigue and danger as the last two books in the series.  I was quite intrigued when it was explained what the heart stones were for when the group finally reaches their destination.  But even in the city are they in danger still.  Korhan, mostly from his own ego and ignorance.  Brael, it seems, has picked up an assassin on his trail since the last one "failed" in their duty.  And then there is part of Vashni's past that resurfaces.  Hers might be the most interesting story of all, even if it is slowly being unfolded piece by piece in this series.  She has lead many lives.  I really like the bonding going on between the group and how Vashni has changed since she met them.  Her view on non-Elvish people has changed and she is now more willing to befriend others instead of avoid them and look down on them.  The revelation at the end of the book was very exciting indeed and I am kind of hoping to hear a little elaboration on that at some point.

Review:

Book 2 in the Deathsworn Arc series is another one full of adventure and danger!  This group just keeps running into trouble and they can't seem to avoid it.  While looking for Callen, the boy they sent away before fighting the dragon, they come upon a town riddled with the plague.  Everyone in town seems to be dying of it and there are literally pits of dead people.  To make matters worse, the Servants of the Flame find them and almost kills Korhan in the process.  It turns out when one threat to the kingdom has been vanquished, more pop up in its place.  The Verkreath are rat men that live deep underground and when the group has to go underground to avoid the Servants, they run into them with some nasty consequences.  And while Vashni is no doubt very important to the group and a very powerful elf, I cannot help but think that Brael is even more powerful than she is.  I wish we could see more of what he can do and have hope of it in the following book.  All in all, this is one fast paced, adventurous read that is guaranteed to entertain those that are interested in this type of book!

Review:
It surprised me just how much I liked this book.  I am a fan of The Hobbit series but admittedly have never read the book and I haven't read The Lord of the Rings Trilogy either.  However, this book reminded me of the movies and it was quite an intriguing journey as this little group go off to fight a huge dragon.  There's already a dragon slayer in the midst, a cursed dark elf, an elf, a dwarf, a wizard,  and two dock workers.  They don't sound like much, but together they become quite the group and must endure a few trials and humiliations (mainly one character's humiliation) to even reach their destination.  There is little hope that they will make it out alive without some intervention and the female elf that joins them provides them with some help.  However, the dark elf stays cursed and one of the dock workers becomes quite enamored with the elf, who seems to also have some trouble tailing her as well.  She takes this worker under her wing to attempt to teach him some mental defense against magic and those that can bend other's minds to their will and to help him become a better swordsman.  After all she puts him through, it's amazing the man puts up with it.  But he does and is rewarded for it.  Quite a fascinating read!!
