This book was quite different than my usual PNR or romance read. It's about a comedian named Jimmy Punchinello and how he goes from quite the small time guy doing live stand up to a man in the television business. The first part of the book was a bit hard to get into. It was a little slow. Then you start learning more about Fat Jimmy's past and his family. They're quite an interesting bunch and all of them are go-getters. He is the only one without a "real job", hence he feels more like the screw up of the family. But this story isn't just about him constantly chasing women and fame and fortune. It's about a man who finally decides to do something worth while with his life while learning to understand his father more. I personally liked his psych evaluation. It was quite telling and spot on. Overall, the book was a unique read but definitely not for your younger audiences.
