★ Excerpt 1 - Their First Encounter...

“Gia French, is it? Am I pronouncing that correctly?” the ticketing agent at Reagan Washington National asks.

“It’s Gia like the letter G, then yuh—Gee-yuh.”

“That’s a pretty name. May I have your passport please?”

I thank her and politely hand it over.

It’s been a remarkable journey touring the east coast of the United States but it must end. Unfortunately, I am two days ahead of schedule because my director at Versace in Milan unexpectedly wants to meet with me tomorrow because he’ll be traveling in a few days.

I arrived at the ticket counter to see if I could find a way to change my plans and make it on the next flight out of here to get back to Milan in time for a meeting tomorrow evening. According to my research, a flight leaves here in a little over an hour. It looked packed but I intend to get on it.

The airport traffic is dying now that it’s 8 p.m. Thankfully, I’m the only one in line. But I’m anxious and hoping the agent can quickly work this out in time for me to make it through security and catch the flight.

“Excuse me,” a man walks up to the counter. “I need to get out of here—urgently.”

“And you assume I don’t,” I respond slightly perturbed by his intrusion.

The attendant responds to him. “Look, sir, I’m the only one working here right now so you’re going to have to wait until I finish things here with this customer.”

“Thank you,” I nod at her in approval and smile.

“Well, can you hurry it up already?”

How rude.

The woman ignores him and she tries to sort me out while he huffs and puffs behind me.
I turn to him and smile. “You know, rudeness will only get you so far,” utter sarcasm filters through my words. “Sometimes a little politeness can take you a long way. Pardon me…I don’t mean to intrude…or maybe you could have asked me nicely first. That’s called manners, or didn’t you learn those? Do they not exist on the planet you come from?”

His vivid blue eyes turn dark and cold. “Listen, lady, I’m not in the mood, okay.”

“Well, neither am I, so back off and let me handle my business,” I snap.

He doesn’t respond and looks at something on his phone.

The clerk manages to get me on a flight from here to Munich and from Munich to Milan. I’ll have to head straight from the airport to my meeting but barring no delays, I’ll get there on time.

“Here you go Ms. French.” She hands me my boarding passes and passport. “Your flight leaves out of gate twenty-two in fifty-five minutes.”

“Thank you.”

As I turn to leave, the man behind me stares at me crossly when my carry-on suitcase is stuck in the strap of his. When I yank it away, the case turns off its wheels and runs over his foot.

“Maybe you should watch where you’re going,” he says tersely.

“Maybe you should keep your belongings out of the way,” I retort. “Considering it’s beyond the check-in line, that’s a hindrance and a liability.”

“You know what? Why don’t you just mind your own business and get lost.”

“Gladly,” I respond. “Cuzão!”

“What was that?” he shouts from behind me.

I swear he’s trying to provoke me.

I stop and turn to him, “I said you’re an asshole. What are you going to do, beat me up? You stupid dingbat.”

I stomp away curtly with my blood-red stilettos pounding the terrazzo floors making it through security and to the gate just in time to get onto the aircraft.

★ Excerpt 2 - Sexual Hedonism...

“Are you single? Are you seeing anyone?”

“No. I’m not in a relationship with anyone except my two dogs Bella and Cudjoe. In addition, if I were seeing anyone, I would not have spent that time with you. There are two girls I see, but it’s purely sexual.”

“I can’t believe you just admitted that to me.”

“It is what it is.”

“Do they know about each other?”

“Yes—they’re best friends.”

“And you have sex…with both of them?”

“Yes.”

“Together?”

“Yes.”

“You’re a freak…a promiscuous male slut.”

A sexy grin crosses his lips. “I’ve been called worse, but don’t expect me to apologize just because I’m sexually uninhibited.”

I find his honesty both refreshing and appalling. “Why would I expect you to apologize?

And who says you’re the only one who’s sexually uninhibited?”

He nearly chokes on his wine.

I giggle. “Does that surprise you?”

“Let’s just say I was not expecting that response.” He laughs.

“Well, I’m not a slut and I don’t engage in threesomes but I thoroughly enjoy great sex with the right man.”

“As you should.”

“So do you use protection when you engage in all this hedonism?”

“Always.” He winks at me.

“So when do you intend to see them next?”

Cover Reveal for Pitch Dark by AM Wilson and Alex Grayson

COVER REVEAL

One girl disappeared. After fifteen years, her cold lifeless body was found on the damp forest floor. Not an inch of her was unmarked by the horrors she endured. Alone, malnourished, abused in horrific ways; this was how she died.

One girl was found walking the streets, covered in dirt and scars. She had no memory of who she was, where she came from, or what happened to her. Even though the marks on her body attested to years of heinous abuse, her strength shone through at every turn.

Revenge and justice were sworn.

Years of searching brought up nothing but dead ends. Detective Niko James was too late to save his childhood friend, but he vows not to let down another.

The clock is ticking and the trail is pitch dark.

*TRIGGER WARNING*  Some scenes depict abusive situations.

A Lone Planet. One Complex. Unlimited Chaos.   Catch a siren. Stop the storm. Whatever the cost. Allie, sick of war and grief, signed up as a lowly maintenance worker for the Complex in the hope of securing a lasting peace between the Metas and Humans. However, the girl has her own secrets, not least of which is her assignment from the Lorn government to monitor the Complex for signs of a suspected saboteur. Galen, the only survivor of the Poseidon shipwreck, didn't join the Complex for peace. He wants vengeance on the siren Halcyon, the mysterious Mer whose terrorist tactics single-handedly killed more humans than any other Meta. His sources say that Halcyon is on Lorn, and he'll happily kill every Mer in the Complex until his parents' murderer is dead. Can they catch the terrorist before the Complex is destroyed?

The Complex Book Series:
A Lone Planet. One Complex. Unlimited Chaos.   After a brutal war between Humans and Metas an uneasy truce is declared in the Seldova solar system. At the conclusion of the treaty signing, the Complex is created on the lone planet, Lorn. The Complex is a blended community of Humans and Metas, all sent to test the waters of a more peaceful existence between the two races. Living under a domed community can only mean one thing for the Humans and Metas. Chaos.

A taste of what's in store:
Galen unclenched his fists and stepped out of the cab. It zoomed away, leaving him alone in the corridor outside his door. Outside what would be home for the next two years. Galen took a deep breath, palmed open the door, and stepped inside. Only to discover the apartment was already occupied. "…I repeat, restrict temperatures within all living spaces to a lower limit of two…no, make it five degrees above the freezing point of water. Anyone who wants lower temperatures than that will have to apply to Maintenance and only if appropriate insulation is fitted to all the apartment's pipework will it be allowed," the woman said. A floor-cleaning robot hummed around her feet, siphoning water off the floor. An electronic voice protested, "You do not have authorisation to impose controls on all living spaces, or this one. Resident number – " "Space that!" the woman snapped. "My authorisation is ALI-407102 Maintenance override. Stick that up your circuits and do as you're told." Galen liked her already. "Processing," the recorded voice replied. "Authorisation confirmed. Any further orders?" "Give me a damage report. How many apartments are affected by the burst pipes?" A pause, then the electronic voice said, "Just those on this side of the inner ring of this level. No other apartments had sub-zero temperatures for an extended period." The woman sighed, her shoulders relaxing along with her voice. "Good. I want temperatures matched to those in 407 until the ice has melted in all affected apartments, and I want floor cleaning robots activated in all of them. Get me every Maintenance worker we have in the Complex, and a load of replacement pipes. This is urgent." "Implementing orders now," the voice said. As if on command, Galen's communications device sounded an alert. The woman whirled around, so her surprised eyes met his. She wasn't more than a girl, really, despite her authoritative orders to the building management AI. Yet her dark eyes seemed to x-ray his soul, if he believed in such a thing. Galen tried to shake off the effect of her hypnotic stare. Did that make her a Meta like the Intra at the entrance? "How many apartments have burst pipes?" Her eyes widened for a moment. "Enough to keep me busy all day. Some idiot set these rooms to temperatures below freezing, without realising that some other idiot had forgotten to insulate the water pipes against freezing. Probably someone who'd never seen snow before, or what ice can do to pipes. My money's on a stupid ship-born Meta." Her brows drew so low they nearly met over the bridge of her nose. Hating Metas made her Human, then. Just a really pretty one. Galen blew out a breath he hadn't known he was holding. Human and his type and here. Whoever she was, he wanted her. "Aren't we supposed to be trying to get along?" Galen said. "You know, us and the Metas, now the war's over?" The girl snorted. "Oh, sure. The war's over and we live under a peace treaty, so we're not supposed to kill each other, but there was nothing in the treaty about banning stupidity. So I guess we'll just have to live with that." Galen laughed. She wasn't stupid, that was for sure. "I'm Galen," he said, extending a hand in greeting. "I'm supposed to be the environmental engineer responsible for the Complex, and while I don't think I've officially started work yet, I think your AI just conscripted me." He pointed at his right hand, which hid the chip implant that held his communication device. "I've changed a few pipes in my time. I did my apprenticeship on shipboard environmental systems. Nothing as state of the art as this place. Our ship was falling apart, cobbled together from spare parts and scrap metal in the first place. You'd replace one thing, only to find something else had fallen off while you were working. I can handle pipe replacements." Her cool fingers meshed with his as she shook his hand. Her eyes lit up. "So you're the genius engineer Lennox told me about. I thought you'd be older." Her mischievous grin did things to Galen's insides. "I'm twenty-four, and I've been working as an engineer for a decade. Plenty old enough to know what I'm doing," Galen snapped to hide the tumult inside. She couldn't be any older than he was. In fact, she looked younger. And she was a Maintenance worker, which made her his subordinate. "How many apartments need replacement pipes?" he repeated. The girl lifted her eyes to the ceiling. "Answer him." "Fifty-two, not including the two already repaired," the electronic voice said. "Twenty-six each, then," the girl said. She flashed another impish grin. "How fast can you fix pipes, genius? Want to wager something on it? Loser has to make the winner dinner." How had she known he'd wanted to ask her to dinner? Galen shook his head. She hadn't. "You're on. One condition, though." She raised her eyebrows, waving for him to continue. "Tell me your name." She let out a peal of laughter. "Sure thing, Galen. I'm Allie, and it's good to have you on board. Genius or not, anyone who can fix pipes is a good man in my book." Allie winked. "I'll go left, and you go right. I already fixed the pipes in your next door neighbours' place. A wolverine shifter family. Good thing the ventilation's still working well." Galen watched her head down the corridor, unable to take his eyes off her. Allie glanced over her shoulder. "Staring at my arse won't win you your wager, genius. Nor will it get you any closer to getting your hands on it." Feeling his face grow hot, Galen turned away, but not before he heard her laughter ring out down the corridor. He had to win this wager, he swore. His reputation depended on it. And maybe more besides, he thought, envisioning what she looked like without her standard-issue coverall. One day he wanted to find out how well fantasy matched the reality.

Release Blitz for Burn: A Hotter Than Hell Novel by Holly S. Roberts

Burn (Hotter than Hell, #3) Stand-alone
By Holly S. Roberts

Blurb:

Dax Jonathan Montgomery’s life was destroyed after he lost his wife and unborn child in a horrific drunk driving accident and he murdered the man responsible. It cost him his heart and seven years behind bars. The horror didn’t stop there. With nowhere to go after his release, he joined the Desert Crows, a skinhead outlaw motorcycle club and does things no man should be proud of. He knows the only chance at redemption is to take over the club and turn his bike down another sweltering road.
Sofia Guadalupe Acosta was born the bi-product of a drugged out Hispanic mother and a skinhead father. Her father wanted her mother dead and his dirty little secret hidden. Her mother escaped with Sofia and changed her life to protect her child. Now Sofia’s all grown up and set on revenge.
The problem… another skinhead killed her no good rotten father so Sofia must set her sights on a different target. She doesn’t care if she burns in hell as long as Dax burns with her.
This book is intended for mature readers. Contains adult situations and violence.
Criminals, drug cartels, and outlaw motorcycle gangs--this series has it all. Are you woman enough to handle these bad boys?

Excerpt (nice, kind of):

Sofia barely moves and that makes me smile, until a bug flies into my mouth. Even eating bugs is better than prison. It’s a twenty-minute ride to Payson. We hit the Sonic on the right side of the highway by the casino. I roll the bike under the covered parking and turn off the engine. “We can take it back to the club or eat on the patio,” I tell her.
“Patio, please,” she says in a shaky voice. She’s trembling when I take her hand and help her off the bike. She won’t look at me. I squeeze her fingers and pretend I have no idea how terrified she was to ride.
I’ll admit I’m wary about having her in public. I don’t need trouble with the cops. I’m not wearing my colors or carrying my gun. As an ex-con, I’m a prohibited possessor of a gun. Sofia needs to keep it casual and I’m hoping my threat against Red will do the trick. Even so, I don’t see her as someone who cries to the cops. She fucking pointed a gun at me yesterday. She also planned to murder Fox.
We place our order. This isn’t exactly how you wine and dine a girl. This is me, though. After seven years of hell inside prison, I’d rather eat fast food whenever possible than sit inside a restaurant. I take a good long look at Sofia.
She takes off the sunglasses and moves a stray piece of hair out of her eyes. “Why are you looking at me like that, bolillo?”
Bolillo?”
“Never heard a white slur before?”
I can’t help the grin that splits my face. She’s always challenging me. “Never heard that particular one, princess.” Her eyes are almost black. I’d like to see them burning as I ram my cock into her tight little pussy.
“It means white bread bun.”
My laugh is loud in the quiet setting. No one else is sitting outside their vehicle. It’s in the low eighties up here in the mountains. Much cooler than Phoenix but still hot enough to stay in the car with the air cranked. “That the best insult you got?”
For the first time, her eyes crinkle with laughter and her lips twitch. “Well there is dog fucker but I’m saving that one.”
