Review for The Partnership (Extra Credit Book 1) by Charlotte Penn Clark

The Partnership
Extra Credit Book 1
Charlotte Penn Clark

Blurb:

Kyle’s got a problem. He needs to pass college composition to graduate but he can’t get words on a page.  It’s landed him in a pilot class called Extra Credit for students in trouble—when all he wants is to be left alone.

Lani’s got a problem too. She doesn't like making waves and it gets her stuck in the Extra Credit class. When she ends up partnered with Kyle things start getting complicated. Kyle is angry, restless, impatient; Lani is calm, introverted, bookish. But when these opposites attract can they manage to stay “just partners”?

Review:
This was a unique story for me. It was different because I’ve never read anything like it before. Definitely an interesting idea and I’ve seen other books that kind of looked like this but definitely weren’t the same. It does start off rather slow. But the story between Lani and Kyle gets heated and things change for the very quiet and modest Lani and hot headed Kyle. They both have their issues they face. There’s some nice character growth and the end is really good!  4 out of 5 stars!

New Release and Review for The Carmichaels: Complete Set Charlotte Penn Clark

The Carmichaels: Complete Set
Charlotte Penn Clark

Blurb:

Rich. Smart. Beautiful. Talented. And they even get along. Mostly.
The five Carmichael sisters lucked out in the game of life, but their privilege doesn't protect them from heartbreak. Read all five contemporary romance novellas newly revised and together for the first time!

CORINNE wants her independence, but when tragedy strikes her family she relies on her new French boyfriend for support.
Headstrong DAISY goes after what she wants as a financial journalist, but the guy she wants keeps her at arm's length.
VALERIE, still shaken by past trauma, is surprised when her feelings for her E.R. doctor grow beyond friendship.
MARIE is just getting started as a sportswriter so she really shouldn't fall for her first subject, the newly-drafted quarterback.
SAMANTHA has crushed on her college advisor for a year but now that she's about to graduate maybe she finally has a shot with him.

Review:
This complete set of novellas is a pretty easy read and each book doesn't take too much time either, which is great for me! There are 5 Carmichael sisters and they were born into a very privileged family. Dad is a Senator who decides to run for president. Honestly, I didn't expect the first book to go the way it did. And this may be a bit of a spoiler but frankly the other four books are built off of this one big freak accident: their parents die in an accident. Much of the other books revolve not only around their relationships with the men in their lives, but dealing with loss and how to keep the family close. Each daughter brings a different dynamic to the family and I loved how close they were even though they were living so far apart. I wasn't really a big fan of Corinne, the oldest. And each book ended kind of abruptly. But together they make a very good set!  4 out of 5 stars!
