New Release and Review for The Earl's Forsaken Bride (A Laird to Love #5) by Tammy Andresen

The Earl's Forsaken Bride
A Laird to Love #5
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:

Lord Callum Blackwood does not want a silly empty headed lass for a wife. He's seen too much darkness, for such a woman. Nor does he have the patience or softness to woo a blushing bride. He needs a woman that can step into the role of wife and fill his obligation for an heir.

Lady Elizabeth has been ruined by her father’s gambling debts and is now a lowly laundress. But her fate cannot hide her beauty, her strength, or the lady that still lives within. And while she takes pride in her work, her ability to care for herself in a world that forces women to rely on men, she cannot deny that Callum could help her. especially when her aunt falls gravely ill.

Neither wants love, but nor can they deny the attraction that sparks between them. Will those feelings, forge a bond or break their tentative agreement apart?

Review:

I’ve been hoping that Callum would find his happily ever after. He finds a perfect match in Elizabeth. She works hard as a laundress to help provide for her and her aunt, who I really liked. She was a very endearing character. Callum is wealthy and titled but looking for a practical woman. And his character is very likable. He’s kind but carries his demons just like Elizabeth. And she wants more than to be a pretty fixture in his life. This was another short and sweet story by the author. I only wish it were longer. But don’t we always when it’s a good one?

New Release and Review! My Laird's Seduction by Tammy Andresen

My Laird's Seduction
(A Laird to Love #4)
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:
Lady Ainsley McDougal has long been the bell of the ball. But there is one beau she cannot tame, which, of course, is her favorite kind. She'll catch her man yet.

Laird James McPherson is a Highland Laird, an English Earl, a soldier of the Indian War, and a privateer for the British Navy simply for the joy of it. He'll be damned before one tiny blond spitfire of a Scottish lass brings him to his knees and ties him down in wedlock. But even he can't deny that he's tempted...

Review:
Of all the books I have read by this author, this one might have pulled at my heart strings the most. James's story is so sad and full of people who were supposed to love him, treating him badly. Because of that, it just breaks him inside and that moment in the hall with Ainsley after she was singing to the baby really got to me. I have children and cannot imagine a child growing up how he did. The love the two of them find helps heal him and it changed her for the better as well. I can't say enough good things about their story. And it started out so different than the ending! I didn't even like James at first, but my mind was changed! It's a wonderful read!

New Release and Review for: A Scot's Surrender (A Laird to Love #3) by Tammy Andresen

A Scot's Surrender
(A Laird to Love #3)
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:
An innocent debutante and a rogue...

Miss Agnes Faulkenberry dreams of a gentleman, a knight in shining armor that sweeps her off her feet. Laird Keiran McKenna is nothing like her dreams. A rogue and sworn bachelor, she finds him irritating, when he isn't causing her breathless excitement. The more time she spends with him, the more the line between knight and rogue blurs. Not that it matters, because he'd never love her in return would he?

Review:
Agnes is such a sweet person. She is loving and caring and everything Kieran thinks he shouldn't want. But the joy she possesses is hard to stay away from, especially when they're staying under the same roof for a time. The only problem is that she has a certain idea of what gentlemen should be like, and Kieran doesn't fit in that box. But he carries wounds and scars of his own. And he's slowly shattering those preconceptions she has. I loved watching the romance between these two. The fact that the two don't completely get along is nice because it's realistic since all relationships have hurdles they must get over. It's a shorter read, but a great one!

New Release and Review for Heart of a Highlander by Tammy Andresen

Heart of a Highlander
A Laird to Love #2
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:

Will a spark between two childhood friends light into a flame…

Lady Fiona McDougal embodies the wild spirit of Scotland, untamed and free. If only her future could be the same, but she is bound by duty to marry well for the sake of the title. As her heart and necessity battle only one answer arrises time and again, Colin Campbell. But he is the one man who refuses to court her.

Colin has loved Fiona for as long as he can remember. Her fiery spirit and matching hair, fill him with a warmth that no other woman can match. But Colin's father has long made him promise that he will choose a wife for reasons other than love.

Review:
Another wonderful story by Tammy Andresen! I knew from reading other books by her that Fiona was going to be quite a handful, and I was right! She has more spirit than most men cared for in that day and age. Men wanted quiet, demure, dutiful wives. I'm afraid Fiona is anything but that. She has spirit and unfortunately these suitors that are put in her path, don't quite care for it except for making things interesting in bed. Colin, on the other hand, doesn't take to this suitor business well at all, but it's kind of his fault that she's in the position she is. Being forced to find a husband would be my worst nightmare and apparently it is for Fiona too. I really liked Colin and felt bad for the situation he was in with his father. That man really messed with his head. Over all it was a great read!

New Release! My Enemy, My Earl (A Laird to Love #1) by Tammy Andresen

My Enemy, My Earl
(A Laird to Love #1)
Tammy Andresen

Blurb:

Fleeing London, and scandal, Lady Clarissa Burton runs directly into the wife-hunting Earl of Dumfries while traveling on a rutted Scottish road. She wanted peace in Scotland, not a tall and brooding laird who makes her forget that handsome lords are nothing but trouble.

Having spent years of his life fighting English wars, Ewan McDougal, Earl of Dumfries, wants nothing to do with England, or its people, for as long as he lives. He wants a nice Scottish lass to warm his bed and raise a family. So why can't Ewan stop thinking about Lady Clarissa's pouty lips or her curves made for a man's hands? And what happened to her in London that has her running scared?

Review:
Oh I love this story! Clarissa is a publicly spurned woman arriving in Scotland to spend time with her family and to escape her public ruin due to her ex-fiance's horrible behavior. And wow, what a story behind that one. Even in modern times that would have been quite the scandal. On the way to her Uncle's house, she meets a handsome Scot who hates the English and with her English accent, he makes it quite known that he's no fan of anything English. What he doesn't know is she is half Scot herself. Ewan has his own very good reasons for having such a dislike of the English. And he has his own pain to deal with, much like Clarissa does. They understand each other well once they get past attempting to hate each other and realizing the other is not the enemy after all. Which brings me to the title. So very appropriate. Loved the book and I love the cover!

New Release and Review! Christmastide With My Captain by Tammy Andresen

Christmastide With My Captain
(A Laird To Love)
by Tammy Andresen

 Blurb:

Lady Emilia McDougal has watched love find each of her beloved sisters. When will it be her turn?

Captain Jack Andrews lost his love of the sea long ago and he doesn't deserve to find the love of his life. Especially not with someone as stunning and kind as Emilia.

But how long can resist those tempting lips, soft smile, and heartfelt words? And what will her father, the Earl of Dunfries, do to a man like him if he does?

This is a Christmas novella that will introduce you to the heartfelt series, A Laird to Love.

Review:
Books like this put me more and more into the Christmas spirit. I love getting the chance to read Christmas books this time of year and this one is a very sweet romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was pretty short so it wouldn't take long for anyone to read but still held romance and love with a smidge of suspense to it. It's sad that Emilia doesn't have a better opinion of herself just because she isn't married, but not surprising considering the setting. Things are much different in our modern world. I really liked Jack. A man of questionable heritage but falling quickly for his rescuer. Yes, now that I found greatly to my liking. A woman saving a man overboard! Now that's what I'm talking about!
