Review:

Home for Christmas is not your run of the mill, cuddly feeling, Christmas book. Does it have moments like that? Absolutely! And I do love the emphasis is has on family. But for Logan, coming home for Christmas was something to just get through, much like Alisha, who he meets on the way home from the airport. The military is all Logan has ever known so going into civilian life is a serious adjustment. In fact, I felt like he would have had more issues than displayed in the book. Being married to a veteran, I have seen some of the more minor effects that being overseas can have on a person. This guy transitioned remarkably well considering the amount of time he put. Either way, he and Alisha become very close and she is very supportive and understanding, which I love about the character. Her past is a haunting one indeed and you do see some of her struggles. Logan's mom is a different story. I love how feisty she is all except for how unsupportive she is of his past career choice. I get the feeling there is way more to his dad than meets the eye. The strong, silent type in a way. There were some loose ends in the book and I have to wonder whether there will be a follow up? I hope so! I would like to see the outcome!
