Review for Saved By Grace by TJ Rudolph

Saved by Grace
TJ Rudolph

Seventeen year old Grace Delaney has been building up the courage to tell her best friend Aaron Wheeler that she is in love with him, but before she has a chance to, he is killed.

She swears to never love again, until Chase Ryder walks into her life-a notorious bad boy from her home town.
Everyone knows that Chase has spent time in juvi, but no-one knows why.
Grace is determined to stay away from him, but Aaron's ghost keeps appearing and keeps telling her to move on.
When Grace finds out that Chase, like her, had a damaged childhood, she finally understands why he pushes people away. She decides to try to break down those walls he has built around himself and show him that he is worthy of love.

Grace is hiding a secret of her own about a life she lived before she met Chase. She tries to hide her past from him, but that secret is exposed.
They learn to trust each other and fall in love--but then Grace finds out the truth about what really happened the night Chase’s father died.
If Grace can't learn to accept all of Chase, including his past, she risks losing her second love, too!

Review:
I would be lying if I said this book wasn't utterly heartbreaking and that I didn't shed a few tears. We have all lost people we love, but Grace and Chase are two of the most broken people I have ever seen. And the sad thing is that their families played such a big part in that. Your family are supposed to be people you can trust. Instead, they gave these two some major issues. Neither of them really knew how to have a normal relationship so when they fell in love, they weren't sure what to do. And the big secret that Chase keeps hidden away? Even I didn't see that one coming. But it will threaten to break them apart for good. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was how both over reacted so much. It seemed a bit extreme at times. Otherwise, I had to finish this book in one evening. So, yeah I liked it!
4 out of 5 stars!

DOD Bk Tour banner

Degrees of Distortion by Aimee McNeil
Distortion Series; Book 1
Romantic Suspense
Limitless Publishing

Synopsis:

Lexie Wilder is no stranger to tragedy. She struggles every second of every day to overcome the loss of her boyfriend…

Determined to get her life back on track, Lexie retraces a road trip she went on with Alex before he died. The trip was meant to be a harmless adventure to revisit old memories and track down an elusive color of nail polish. Instead, Lexie uncovers a truth in Sugar Hill that her mother wanted to keep hidden.

When strange men follow Lexie home, her mother demands she run, sending her further away from the answers she seeks. But Lexie finds a clue in an old diary. Her mother wrote about a dark man with a dangerous past.

Jackson is a distraction Lexie isn’t prepared to face…

Alone in an unfamiliar town, Lexie has nothing but her haunted thoughts to keep her company and is terrified this man from her mother’s past has come back to finish what he started. She doesn’t know who to trust, especially when she realizes her neighbor, Jackson, is as intimidating as he is beautiful. She tries to keep her mysterious neighbor at a safe distance, but after he fights off an armed attacker, Lexie finds herself turning to him for comfort.

Her new protector can’t stop the evil forces already in play…

There is only one person who can answer for the chaos that has taken over Lexie’s life…her mother. The man responsible for the torment detailed in the pages of the diary is real, and now his sights are set on Lexie. His henchmen might have failed, but he won’t.

Lexie must figure out exactly how much she trusts Jackson and his good intentions if she ever wants a chance to finally piece her life back together. But first she has to survive…

Some demons don’t die. They wait...

Excerpt:

“Lexie walked out into the warm morning sun. The air tasted fresh and smelled woodsy from the thick forest winding tightly around all the cottages. She wished circumstances were different and she could enjoy the scenery. She took a deep breath and lifted her camera up to view the peaceful wilderness through her lens. The ability to capture a moment forever with one click of her camera always fascinated her. She loved the power to stop time, hold onto it, and revisit it whenever she wished.  The sound of a car door closing pulled her attention away from a couple of birds chirping in a nearby tree. Lexie looked next door at the sleek black car that she hadn’t noticed the night before. Her knowledge of cars was slim to none, but it looked like it was built for speed and nothing practical.  The front steps groaned loudly in protest as she stepped down, alerting the owner of the car. His attention drew to her as he swung a black duffle bag over his shoulder. She froze like a deer in the headlights. He was tall and shaped like a man that did nothing but physical activity. His intense eyes were staring back at her and her heart throbbed so loudly she could feel it in her fingertips.
She imagined it was like crossing a lion in the wild. He was captivatingly beautiful and terrifying at the same time. He gave her a friendly wave, and unlike her, seemed completely at ease.”

Release Date: June 1st, 2016

“I will always be there for you, Mady, always.”
One month later, I was slammed with the realization that there were some things you just can’t count on being true.

College sophomore, Madelyne Stewart, has it all—a wonderful home, a close-knit family, and great friends. But when tragedy strikes, it flips her world upside down. She struggles to deal with the chaos of her crumbling life.

On the brink of failing her classes, Mady reluctantly agrees to study with a tutor. Max Granger drifts into her life like a breath of fresh air. Not only is he intelligent and an excellent tutor, he’s funny, laid-back, and has the amazing ability to soothe her troubled soul. His striking looks top off a complete package any woman—Mady included—would want. Except, she isn’t looking to add anything else to her broken plate.

Can Mady find a way to make it though her pain and see what is in front of her? Will she take chance on Max? Or will the pieces of her heart be too broken to mend?

When I next looked at my phone, two hours had passed. I put my pen down and stretched, arching my back and reaching my arms back over the chair. I looked over and noticed Max was watching me intently. “What?” I asked, embarrassed. He cleared his throat. “Nothing, sorry.” I took a quick drink of my water bottle, and again, I caught Max watching me. “Why do you keep looking at me? Do you want some water or something?” I asked, holding the bottle towards him. He licked his lips, and my eyes zoned in to his. Wow, they really were something—sensual and just a shade darker than his toffee skin. He was quite the sight. I shook my head as he grabbed the bottle from me and took a swig.
