Review for Ungranted Wishes by Grace Risata

UNGRANTED WISHES BY GRACE RISATA

Blurb:

It would be putting it mildly to say that full-figured Cleo Welch was in a funk. Dead end job? Check. Bank account? Running low. Sex life? Non-existent.

Her luck took a turn for the better when she stumbled upon a magic brass pot at a rummage sale. After getting drunk and rubbing things the right way, Cleo found herself in possession of one extremely attractive genie who was very grateful to be released.

What’s a girl to do when a four thousand year old genie is far more interested in satisfying her every desire, rather than granting any of her wishes? Well…she does the genie. That’s a no-brainer!

Review:
First off, I have to say that I love the female main character's name! Her name is fantastic! Cleo is just a young woman trying to get by in a rather unforgiving world where people care entirely too much about being thin and all that good stuff. That includes her awful aunt. Cleo's older brother works entirely too much as the two of them struggle to keep the family business afloat. One day Cleo finds a rare treasure that will change her life. The result is her having a very hot, male genie tied to her hip for two weeks. He goes where she does. Beck is enamored with Cleo and doesn't mind showing it. Cleo does her best not to get attached. So Beck is super hot and knows how to treat a lady. His past is intriguing, but the real shocker is the tie he already has to Cleo's family. Wow! Now I was not expecting that! What I didn't like? The fact that Cleo had so much self-loathing going on and it took a man to help that. Otherwise the story was really quite sweet and I enjoyed it!
4 out of 5 stars!

Granted by Dorothy Dawson

Just finished reading this one and it was really good!  Loved the story line about the Djinn (Genies).  Loved how the author took time to explain some history and such about them before jumping into the story.  The book was very captivating and had me sucked in to where I finished it in one day.  The little town of Banesville is a very complicated place.  At first you will dislike a character like Dorian, and then next thing you know you feel sorry for her and just want her to be happy.  The ending kind of reminded me of Jumanji.

Blurb:

Mallory leads a double life, one no one else can see. Adriel wants to start her life over and believes her unique shop is the start. Hazel desperately wants to be married, so much so she can nearly taste it. Lewis is looking for the perfect woman and has earned the name of playboy because he just can't seem to find one. Bette wants to be famous and for the world to appreciate her writing talent. It seems everyone in Banesville has a deep, secret wish, something they would do anything to see fulfilled. The only problem with wishes is they don't always come true the way you envision, and sometimes they have deadly consequences. Be careful what you wish for...
