Carter
She was the one for me.
The one that I knew would be mine forever until I made the biggest mistake. I pushed her away and I’ve regretted that decision ever since. I’ve tried to move on, tried to put the memory of her behind me, but she’s always consuming my thoughts. Now, she’s back in our hometown, trying to rebuild a new life. I know she’s keeping secrets. She tries to hide them from me, and I will do whatever it takes to prove that I’m the one she needs. Because Shelby Ross is the other part of me that I can’t live without and I refuse to let her go again.

Shelby
He broke my heart.
I never thought I would be able to pick of the pieces he left behind. When he let me go, I ran away from it all, thinking it was the easiest thing to do. But, running has a price and I’ve paid it in full for years. Now, I’m back where it all began, back to putting my life together and starting over. It should’ve been easy, but Carter Harlow is reawakening long buried emotions that I thought were gone. He wants to make me his again. I can’t let that happen. He ruined me, broke me, and I’m afraid I’ll never survive it a second time around.

Brie Paisley is a small town gal from Mississippi. She always wanted to write at a young age and was always filling journals with her thoughts and short stories. Excerpt

Slowly raising his head from within his hands, the man in front of Rebecca eventually looked up at her. Blood was pouring from a gash across his eye, and he seemed somewhat dazed. Had this been any ordinary day, she may have noticed his dazzling blue eyes as they stared right at her. She may have checked out his ring finger in the hope that there was no sign of a ring, or that obvious white band you get if you have recently worn one. She may even have struck up a conversation with him, tried to find out more, see if he was interested in her. But this wasn't an ordinary day.

Looking around she shouted to the other guy, who was sitting just a little further back, "Hey are you ok? Is there anyone else in the van?"

No reply came, so she beckoned to some of the bystanders to come and help. They held back at first, then ran over.

"See if anyone has a first aid kit, or something you can use to stem the bleeding from this guy's head," Rebecca instructed the first man who had come to help, "I'm going to check on the other guy, see if I can get any sense out of him. Check this guy for any other injuries and as soon as he can stand get him the hell away from the van, just in case anything does go up."

She ran back to the other man who also had his head in his hands. As she knelt in front of him he quickly raised his head. He then looked to his colleague before turning back.

"Is Richie okay?" he asked.

"Richie? Is that your colleague over there?" Rebecca replied.

"Of course it bloody is, who else would it be?" said the man, his voice raised and angry.

I am a Scottish lass born and bred, grew up in Ayrshire now live in Bonnybridge. An avid reader as a child, my love of books has grown with me. I am a blogger, although I am currently taking an extended break, a reviewer and a beta reader. I am a huge supporter of indie authors, and still can't quite believe I'm about to join such an amazing group of people.

I work full time as a nanny in Edinburgh. To break the monotony of rush hour traffic I occasionally find myself daydreaming on my way home. It was during one of these journeys that the idea for Hearts in Danger came to me. Knowing I had to get the story out of my head I took part in Nanowrimo 2015. By the end of the month I had not only written over 50,000 words, I had surprised myself by sticking to it every single day.

What happens next, who knows? Wherever this journey takes me, though, I will be forever grateful for the help and support I have had along the way from family, friends, bloggers, reviewers and authors alike.

Book Blitz and Review for The Burden of Trust by Tabitha Dye

Title: The Burden of Trust
Author: Tabitha Dye
Genre: Contemporary, Women's Fiction
Release Date: October 18, 2013
Cover Design: Tabitha Dye

The Burden of Trust is a love filled drama about an arrogant actor who accidentally falls head over heels with a lesbian who has a dark twisted past.

As a last resort, Kate found herself in the hospital chapel; even though she wasn’t a religious person, she needed guidance more than she had ever imagined. Sitting in silence with maybe one other person, Kate was unsure of how this was done. It had been three months since Kerri had fallen into her coma, and Kate had begun to lose her faith about recovery. Her eyes closed and her hands folded in a prayer pose; she didn’t pay any attention when someone sat down in her pew, but continued to pray. A soft, drawling voice spoke to her and rattled her nerves. Kate had prepared herself for this moment; it would only be a matter of time before they showed up.

To get right down to brass tax, this is not something I would normally read. It's kind of out of my "genre" so to say. However, I did find this a rather intriguing read and had to follow it through to the end to find out where everything would lead. Kate is one conflicted individual and with good reason. Some of those reasons are hidden until you get well into the book. At that point you do start wondering what exactly the big secret is that she's hiding, and it's a doozy. But then again, she was in a rough place and had little choice. Then years later she is still coping with losing Kerri and their baby when Chris Cody strolls into her life quite forcefully. The man who has everything he ever wanted, but realizes how empty his life has been and how no one is actually interested in him personally. It's just his fame and fortune. But then there's Kate who's brutally honest and causes him to rethink everything. A friendship buds between them and Kate finds that she can finally let go and trust someone again and she starts changing for the better, but as always, something awful happens that causes quite the upheaval in her and Chris's friendship. To be honest, you're left wondering just where their friendship is heading because it's quite intense to be just friends. But it doesn't really say in the end and there are a few loose ends so I am hoping that there is a second book in the works.
4 out of 5 stars!

Tabitha is a new and upcoming author who just finished her first novel in The Burden of Trust series. At the age of twenty she was published in Families Like Mine, which sparked her passion for storytelling.

Ready For Flynn, Part 2
A rockstar romance by K. L. Shandwick
Available on all platforms from 25th May 2016

An undeniable love keeps them together, but is young love enough in a world full of temptation?
With Flynn's career on the line can he accept what Valerie proposes? He knew he could trust her with his heart, but is that the same as believing in her?
He knew she could be persuasive and he wanted to give her the world, but was she ready to take the world on with him?

(A contemporary rock romance 18+)

Excerpt & Teaser

I knew I’d never love anyone my whole life the way I loved him. I read about once-in-a-lifetime events that happen to a tiny minority of people. Since the day I’d met Flynn, there had been two in my life. One where he slashed a gaping hole in my heart and climbed inside, and one where my heart splintered into a million pieces with the death of my brothers. In the short time Flynn had come back into my life, I’d felt things I never thought I would feel again. A damaged heart that healed in response to his love until it wasn’t afraid to pick up the pace when he stared lustily in my direction. A heart that skipped a beat and fluttered at his touch, then squeezed when he said something to me that showed his vulnerable side.

Blog Tour for Breaking Down Sydney by Brittney Coon

SHADES OF SYDNEY(A Sydney West Novel #1)

Sydney West enjoys sampling summer boys, but this year, one refuses to be a one-night stand…

Twenty-one-year-old Sydney doesn’t believe in relationships. Her parents’ toxic divorce has taught her love is nothing but a sinister fairytale. So every summer she parties, hooks up, abandons her lover before dawn, and repeats.

That is until she meets gorgeous local surfer Jason King at the beach…

When Jason fails to flirt—or even give her a second glance—she decides something must be wrong with him, and it’s safer to stay away. But when Sydney and Jason’s best friends hook up and become Malibu’s hottest couple, they are forced to spend more time together than either of them cares for.

Armed with a sharp tongue, Sydney works to keep Jason at bay…

In a moment of weakness, Sydney lets her guard down and confides in Jason, realizing he’s more than just a hot guy—he’s also a friend. And when Sydney’s need for a summer boy results in her falling into bed with Jason, despite her better judgment, she runs away from him by morning.

The problem is, he won’t accept being another one-night stand, and will do anything to prove…

Love really does exist.

BREAKING DOWN SYDNEY (A Sydney West Novel #2)

Sydney West’s new relationship might have survived Malibu, but her transformation from party girl to girlfriend isn’t complete…

Sydney is back in Arizona, and with the fall semester at her doorstep, doubts about her so-called summer love start to plague her. A good girl can only stay good for so long. Jason King changed her and made her wonder if love was real. But now, far from his charm, and with the party scene on campus in full swing, the magic is fading…

Jason isn’t willing to let distance drive a wedge between them…

A surprise reunion and a romantic cabin getaway is enough to reignite their summertime spark, but Sydney isn’t convinced this whole monogamous, meeting-your-parents thing Jason wants is possible. No boy has ever met her mother. Then, when a sudden family tragedy strikes, it sends her spiraling into her old habits of booze and boys.

Sydney can only hide from her past for so long…

In the fog of drowning her sorrows, Sydney realizes her former party lifestyle won’t make her happy. Her one-night stands ended with Jason. As much as she wants to believe in that far-fetched fairytale ending, she’s afraid if Jason finds out about all her summer boys, he will abandon her just like her father did.

Jason refuses to settle for the superficial shell Sydney keeps between them, though, and is determined to…

Break Down Sydney once and for all.

SHADES OF SYDNEY (Book 1):

BREAKING DOWN SYDNEY (Book 2):

Excerpt 1:

We went for a hike in the woods. Amelia and Hunter were pros, putting a few yards between them and Jason and me. I didn’t mind. Amelia was like a drill sergeant. There was no need for that when you were trying to enjoy nature’s beauty.
“Come here,” Jason whispered into the shell of my ear. Before I could answer, he was pulling me off the trail.
“You know the trail is here for a reason. If we get lost, it’s on you.”
His teeth tugged on my earlobe. He said, “Will you stop? We’re not going far.”
The wind blew lightly through the trees and birds were singing. Internal flames ate away at my body. I gave into Jason and let him take me to the unknown.
He stopped in front of a fat pine tree. I gave him a curious look as he circled its trunk and brushed his hand along its bark.
“Should I leave the two of you alone?” I joked.
Jason smirked at me before pulling out a pocket knife. I felt my face go from being curious to alarmed.
“Wh—?”
“Watch.” Jason dug the blade into the bark, carving into the tree.
I stood at his side as he chipped away. After a few minutes, I could make out a heart shape. He then put our initials into the center of the heart.
“There,” he said, standing back to admire his handiwork. “Now we’ll forever live here.”
Something inside me pulled me toward the tree. It was like I had to run my fingers down the new carving to make sure it was real.
The tree would forever bear our initials, through the test of time. I stared at the “JK + SW” within the heart.
“I can honestly say no boy has ever done this for me.”
Jason smiled, putting away his knife. “No? Good to know I’m ahead of the game.”

Excerpt 2:

Jason set a warm cup of coffee in front of me. I blinked a few times before cradling the cup against my chest. I sipped it, letting the hot liquid scorch my throat.
“Don’t drink it too fast. You’ll burn off all your taste buds,” Jason warned.
With the cup back on the table, I glared at him. What does he see in me? Why would anyone want to help someone like me? I’m no good, just need to be thrown away.
“Why are you here?” I asked more to myself than to Jason.
“Excuse me?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Why are you so nice to me all the time? I don’t deserve it. I—” Tears fell down my cheeks. Would I never stop crying after all this?
I am broken.
Jason cupped my chin with his hand, forcing me to look at him. “I love you, Sydney. I love the good in you. I love your flaws. I love every piece of you. The sooner you realize what love means the sooner you can stop feeling broken.”
How does he know I feel broken?

Release Day and Review for Undone (Vampire Awakenings Book 5) by Brenda K Davies

Blurb:
It has been six years since Abigail Byrne laid eyes on Brian Foley, but since then she’s been unable to keep him out of her thoughts and dreams. Determined to try to forget him, she moves on with her life until the day her twin sister disappears without a trace. Abby has no choice but to turn to Brian for help in locating her twin, even if it results in having her heart broken.

Brian’s life as a vampire has consisted of little more than killing and death for the last two hundred years. There’s no room inside of him anymore for kindness and love, or so he thinks, until he hears Abby’s frantic plea for his help. Unable to refuse her request, Brian agrees to help Abby find her missing sister.

As the search for Vicky progresses, Brian does everything he can to deny his growing feelings for Abby. However, the further they delve into her sister’s disappearance, the more determined he becomes to protect her from the horrors they uncover.

Due to language, violence and sexual content this book is recommended for readers 18+

Review:
Yes, yes, and yes. The cover is super hot. I happen to love the eyes and the background. Brian is absolutely a bad boy but one who is out to get those who deserve it. He doesn't kill humans though it has happened before out of necessity. When Abby calls though, he drops everything to help her find her twin. He just can't help himself when it comes to her. In fact, she could very well be the unraveling of his sanity as it's pushed further and further. He is literally becoming undone. I have been waiting to hear Brian's story for some time and it didn't disappoint!!

5 out of 5 stars!!!
